Connect with Positive People:
Have you ever heard the phrase “show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are”? This is absolutely true. Friends have a greater impact on your attitude. The people you associate with have an influence on your behavior. You tend to attract the attitudes of your friends, regardless of whether they are positive or negative. Your parents may get fear about your social circle. They have always been curious about your friends. Our parents were well aware that we would be heavily influenced by our friends and would most likely follow in their footsteps. And I’m sure if you have children, you keep a close eye on their friends.

Those Silly Songs on the Radio:
Assume you’re getting ready for work and you’re listening to a random song on the radio. You were listening to the same music again on the radio while travelling. Since this song is so popular, you’ll hear it a lot when you turn on the radio. You suddenly find yourself humming that song for no apparent reason. Have you ever thought about it? When you hear something over and over, your mind becomes habituated to it and begins to act on it.

However, the subconscious mind was unable to distinguish between positive and negative things. So whatever you hear, you will grasp it. As a result, if you want to be a positive person and achieve your life goals, you should hang out with positive people.

Examining Our Fears:
Have you ever been apprehensive about attempting anything new? Have you ever let fear stop you from taking action? Each person has a different fear threshold. Some people have a fear of heights, whereas others have no fear of heights at all. Speaking in front of an audience or establishing a new business can be frightening for some people. For others, asking for a date is the most terrifying thing they’ve ever done. You should remember that fears are hurdles that stand in the way of your personal and professional growth.

Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.

The Most Common Fears:
- Public Speaking or Giving Presentations: Giving a speech or making a presentation is the most common phobia among people. This is frequently caused by a lack of confidence and a sense of inadequacy.
- Hearing the word “NO” or having their ideas rejected: During sales and cold calls, this is fairly prevalent.
- Changing Jobs or Starting Their Own Business: People are hesitant to change employment or start their dream businesses since they are concerned about their financial situation or fear failure.
- Telling Managers or Executives “Negative News”: Employees are uncomfortable about breaking bad news and are hesitant to do so.

When faced with an anxiety-inducing situation, most people withdraw to avoid the fear and worry. For instance, what would you do if your boss asked you to give a presentation? You will most likely avoid the presentation if you have the opportunity to do so. Let me explain why skipping the presentation is advantageous:
- You don’t have to spend hours making a presentation.
- You don’t have to worry about making a presentation.
- You don’t have to lose your sleep from anxiety.
Let us consider the price you pay when you back away from those fears that are standing in the way of your growth. Here’s what happens:
- Your self-esteem has taken a hit.
- You’re frustrated and powerless.
- You are sabotaging your own achievement.
- You live a dull, uninspired life.
Do you believe this price is fair in exchange for instant gratification? The majority of us are willing to pay this price without considering our future. It may be enjoyable and stress-free for the short term, but your progress will be hindered in the future. You’ll never be very successful or be able to fully use your talents unless you’re willing to face your anxieties.
Face you fear:
On their first attempt, no one could be a better speaker. After your first game, were you a superb tennis player? Or were you a fantastic swimmer when you first got in the water? Any skill requires time to develop. There’s nothing wrong with being afraid of something. It all depends on how you approach the situation. Even the most successful people have fears. The difference is that they act and confront their fears. It won’t be easy, but once you face your fear, you’ll feel a lot better about yourself.
Face your fears and push yourself out of your comfort zone. When you tackle your fears, you’ll gain confidence in other areas. When you get more comfortable as a speaker, you improve your sales skills, your business skills, and so on. Those who refuse to face obstacles and challenges will not be rewarded in life. Face your fears, and you’ll be well on your way to realizing your full potential and living the exciting, meaningful life you deserve. It’s a choice you’ll never regret making!
